Position Overview

Position:          Auditor 1

Reports to:      Auditing Supervisor

Position Type: Hourly, Nonexempt – Approx 5 months

 

Job Summary

Verify figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes. Prepare bank deposit. Assist with verifying department safes. Perform general office duties including filing and running errands as assigned.

 

Qualifications & Experience

High school diploma/GED and related experience and/or training in the field of Accounting preferred. Minimum of 3 years cash handling experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must be detail oriented with strong communication skills. Posses the ability to establish and maintain effective work relations with the staff and general public using tact, courtesy and good judgment. Basic math skill level required. Have the capability to prioritize and organize a variety of tasks and projects.10 key and basic excel experience preferred. Must be a team player that is comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business. Employment in this position is subject to a satisfactory background screening.

 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and verify daily drops from various locations on the resort.
  • Assist in over/short verification, correction, and explanation.
  • Prepare bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to the vault.
  • Track, analyze, and update information in appropriate software systems.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by Auditor 1, Senior Auditor, Auditing Supervisor, and Accounting Manager

 

Physical Demands

Ability to perform sitting at a work station viewing a computer monitor for extended periods of time. Regularly required to walk, stand, sit and occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, balance, reach above shoulder and head. Must use hands and fingers to handle or feel, write, type, manipulate objects; reach with arms and/or hands. Must possess the ability to walk on uneven surfaces, and/or snow and ice covered surfaces, stairs and/or ladders. Must have the ability to tolerate exposure to work in all weather conditions. Possess the ability to lift and/or move 40 lbs and up to 100 lbs with assistance. Must be able hear and to speak clearly to others including public speaking and phone and radio communication. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud on occasion.
