Job Summary

The Group Sales Representative is responsible for generating sales with existing customers and developing new customers, building and maintaining contacts with local groups including schools, military bases, service organizations, recreation clubs and corporate groups.  The primary function is to book group visits to include ticket sales, lessons, rentals and catering.



  • Bachelor of Arts Degree in marketing, business, administration, public relations, or related field; or two years experience in event coordination; or minimum one year sales experience with proven sales record; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Experience in hospitality, catering or event planning preferred
  • Experience in the resort industry preferred
  • A minimum of one year cashiering experience
  • Computer skills required (Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Personal interest in skiing, snowboarding and the outdoors highly preferred
  • Attention to detail with a proven high level of accuracy
  • Previous resort software and database entry experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • High level of integrity
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, groups, and the general public, using tact, courtesy and good judgment
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, trouble-shoot, and work under critical deadlines
  • Ability to take direction and implement a task efficiently
  • Be able to be insured to drive a company owned vehicle in winter and high traffic conditions
  • Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business
  • Must be comfortable working in a team setting



  • Increase corporate and consumer based group business in accordance with the Group Sales Plan
  • Work cooperatively with coordinator to ensure a smooth transition from the point of sale and the completion of the order and group event
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Stevens Pass products and pricing
  • Determine guests’ needs and available resources
  • Book new groups and ensure all initial information has been transferred to a group coordinator
  • Work collaboratively with the managers/supervisors of Accounting, Guest Relations, Rentals, Ski & Snowboard School, Nordic and Food & Beverage and other departments as needed
  • Assist with planning and participating in local and regional trade and consumer events
  • Work closely with Group Coordinator to ensure group visit preparation is complete


  • Contact past groups to generate repeat business
  • Generate new leads and contact for potential new business
  • Prepare proposals for group events
  • Perform competitive analysis
  • Communicate effectively with group leaders via phone, email and letter
  • Promote and encourage future visits by meeting group leaders, sending thank you notes, and conducting follow-up calls
  • Gather referrals for new business from current group leaders and follow up to generate sales
  • Coordinate and collaborate work with outside vendors, contractors, and charter bus companies
  • Gather detailed information about group visits and communicate with other departments to create a positive guest experience, including the preparation of Group Event Order (GEO) forms
  • Process orders including order taking, ticket printing and shipping, account reconciliation, ticket returns, and billing.
  • Offer additional mountain products when appropriate in order to enhance the guest’s on-mountain experience
  • Coordinate group visits including entering advanced rental and lesson reservations and selling lift tickets
  • Assist with meeting groups on site


Perform other duties as assigned by the department supervisor, manager, or the senior management team

Ability to stand for extended periods of time, viewing a computer monitor. Regularly required to walk, stand, sit and occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, balance, reach above shoulder and head. Must use hands and fingers to handle or feel, write, type, manipulate objects; reach with arms and/or hands. Must possess the ability to walk on uneven surfaces, and/or snow and ice covered surfaces, stairs and/or ladders. Must have the ability to tolerate exposure to work in all weather conditions. Must be able to be insured to drive a company owned vehicle in winter and high traffic conditions. Must be able to access civic and corporate buildings, including elevators and stairways.
