Position Overview

Position:           BUS AMBASSADOR VOLUNTEER
Reports To:       MOUNTAIN HOST SUPERVISOR
Status:             NATIONAL SKI PATROL MOUNTAIN HOST PROGRAM VOLUNTEER

            
JOB SUMMARY
Serve as an integral part of the Guest Services Division by supporting the overall quality of the guest experience on the Stevens Pass Snow Bus. Provide information to guests about pass/ticket sales, rentals, ski school lessons, special events, marketing promotions, service locations, including general mountain area information. Greet and assist guests in bus pick up areas and mountain base area. Escort guests from parking lot to main plaza and other on-mountain areas as needed, such as Ski School, Rental Shop, and various dining locations.  Collect suggestions and comments directly from guests. Administer surveys for the Marketing department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess American Red Cross First Aid and CPR card for NSP registration, or have the ability to obtain one
  • Ability to communicate easily with all types of individuals and groups
  • Must be outgoing and guest relations/customer service-oriented
  • General knowledge of Stevens Pass terrain and service
  • Available to work weekends and holidays
  • Be a team player comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal operation

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ride Stevens Pass Snow Bus operated by MTR Western on scheduled days
  • Attend team meetings during shifts to receive pertinent information and develop team communication.
  • Promote the Fast, Friendly, Flexible and Fun philosophy
  • Assist driver with loading/unloading passengers and distribution of tickets
  • Assist with questions about the mountain
  • Support the efforts of the Guest Services Division by attaining a working knowledge of products, services, and amenity locations
  • Assist ticket sales outside ticket windows by coordinating and directing guests according to their needs
  • Volunteer approximately 14 split shifts, with responsibility for morning bus between hours of 6:30AM and 10:00AM, and evening bus between hours of 3:00PM and 7:00PM
  • Perform other volunteer duties as assigned by the Host Supervisor, Sales & Marketing Management Team and/or Senior Team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the volunteer is required to talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with, climb or balance, and be able to smell. The volunteer must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. May occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to walk, stand, on a wide variety of surfaces including snow and ice. Ability to perform duties in all weather conditions.
