Job Title: Bar Shift Supervisor
Department:      Food and Beverage
Reports To:       Bar Services Manager
Status:             Seasonal, Hourly

Assist the Bar Manager in the daily FOH operations for the Foggy Goggle Lounge and the Bull’s Tooth Pub & Eatery. Ensure operations are managed to meet or exceed budget while maintaining a high level of customer service. Work closely with the Kitchen Management team to ensure all back of house functions are met and operations between front and back of house run smoothly as a team. See teamwork, employee morale, and a positive work environment as a priority. Provide support, direction and assistance to all staff members while helping maintain a “Fast, Friendly, Flexible and Fun” attitude. Perform well in a team atmosphere, working with colleagues to ensure success in all outlets. Maintain clear and open communication with the Bar Services Manager, staff members, and all other departments within the resort and the parent company. 

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• A minimum of 2 years floor experience in a fast paced, high volume bar and full service restaurant
• Prior supervisory or management experience preferred
• A minimum of 1 year cash handling experience
• WA state food handlers permit 
• WA state liquor control board class 12 liquor permit
• Ability to multi-task, trouble-shoot, prioritize and organize a variety of tasks and projects
• Ability to communicate effectively 
• Attention to detail with a proven high level of accuracy
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the general public, using tact, courtesy and good judgment
• Ability to understand and apply sound personnel management, with an emphasis on training, directing and motivating others
• Ability to work as a team member with other management and supervisory positions
• This position is subject to a satisfactory background screening
• Must be comfortable with the dynamics of a seasonal business

• Monitor all daily operations to ensure customer service and quality levels are achieved
• Responsible for supervising Bull’s Tooth, Foggy Goggle, and Iron Goat front of house food service employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems
• Assist with staff recruitment and training
• Maintain clean, well-organized, and well-maintained facilities in compliance with Stevens Pass and Washington State mandated Standards
• Ensure the daily operating procedures are implemented for all food and beverage outlets within the Bar Services departments
• Lead by example, while overseeing implementation of daily operating procedures within the Bars
• Responsible for assisting in the receiving of front of house food and beverage products, authorize payment of bill incurred by department and cost account such bills
• Ensure proper controls are followed with cash handling and reporting procedures
• Participate in all inventory counts
• Handle customer relations and/or employee problems that may arise, making consistent decisions to resolve conflict
• Use and act as supervisor control for all Micros or POS errors and or voids
• Inspect establishment and observe workers and patrons to ensure compliance with occupational, health, and safety standards and local liquor regulations; assist staff with daily duties as needed
• Responsible for opening and closing procedures including inventory, cash handling, accounting reports and lockup procedures
• Other duties as required by the Food & Beverage Operations Manager, the Bar Services Manager, the General Manager, and the Senior Management Team

• Be knowledgeable about the ski area and all food and beverage services
• Provide a positive attitude towards the workplace, co-workers, and guests
• Communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers effectively regarding personnel/work issues
• Work unsupervised in a manner that is professional and consistent with company and department policies and procedures
• Maintain a detail oriented focus, ensuring all steps are taken to develop and implement training programs
• Ensure duties/projects/tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner
• Follow the Food and Beverage Manager and Supervisor Behavioral Expectations and act according to these guidelines in the workplace

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or greater with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud on occasion. The employee will occasionally walk on slick, wet, snow-covered, or uneven surfaces.
