    Job Title:                Cook I

    Department:          Food & Beverage

    Reports To:            F&B Mgt Team

    Status:                   Winter - Seasonal, Non-Exempt, Hourly



    Prepare and cook meals for customers of restaurant.



    • Must be 18 years of age or older

    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

    • Basic arithmetic skills

    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

    • Ability to communicate with other employees in English

    • Washington state food handler’s license

    • Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business



    • Cook and prepare food in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served

    • Wash dishes

    • Bake breads and pastry

    • Slice and cut meat

    • Greet and serve guests in a courteous manner

    • Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and presented according to health department regulations and safe food handling practices

    • Maintain a clean, stocked and organized work area including freezer(s), refrigerator(s) and storage areas

    • Perform other duties as requested by the F&B Management Team, the General Manager, or the Senior Management Team 


    • Be knowledgeable about the resort area, and products and services available in restaurant

    • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward the workplace, co-workers, and the guests

    • Communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers effectively regarding personnel and work issues

    • Work unsupervised in a manner that is professional and consistent with company and department policies and procedures

    • Apply good judgment when dealing with customer service situations and other situations that are not clearly defined by standard operating procedures

    • Assist enthusiastically when asked to help out in other areas of either the Cascadian Kitchen or other Food and Beverage departments



    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds or greater with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud on occasion. The employee will occasionally walk on slick, wet, snow-covered, or uneven surfaces.
